The Statute of Limitations is Two Years - But Not Always
Within the Ontario Limitations Act, most claims has to be initiated within 2 yrs with the date from the accident. Although an over-all rule, there are many exceptions. In medical malpractice cases, for example, the statute of limitations only begins in the date that you just first became aware of damages. This could be months as well as years following the malpractice incident.
